The girl with the dragon tattoo is a 2011 psychological crime thriller film based on the 2005 novel of the same name by stieg larsson. this film adaptation was directed by david fincher and written by steven zaillian.. The swedish version captured a cult following for a reason and i would recommend both to anyone who has an interest in darker gritty movies that have a raw intensity to them. the girl with the dragon tattoo isn't for the faint of heart and that's what i love about it!. While the girl with the dragon tattoo is unquestionably a better film than any of those, we're interested in the reasons why it didn't connect as it needed to upon release, in order to persuade.
